If you’re reading this article, you probably already have some knowledge of, or even experience with Taekwondo in your home country, and are now looking to find classes in Madrid. Or, perhaps you’ve no idea what Taekwondo actually is, but have always wanted to try the martial arts, and are looking to find out more about it. A relatively new sport/martial art, Taekwondo was developed in the 1940s in Korea, incorporating the principles of Chinese Karate with ancient Korean traditions. The basic elements that make Taekwondo different to other martial arts are its emphasis upon kicks, for example, head-height kicks, jumping and spinning kicks, and fast kicking techniques. Taekwondo is hugely popular as a sport, (it’s even an Olympic sport) and there are many classes in Madrid from which to choose.
