Madrid is truly a fascinating city. It is a piece of Spanish history and culture, and discovering the city might be overwhelming if you don’t know where to start. A city as big as Madrid is full of hidden treasures, and these are not always well-know or mentioned in tourist guides, especially those guides that are only directed at travellers who only visit for the weekend. A comfortable stay in Madrid at the best price
If you have decided to spend some time in the capital of Spain, let’s say for at least a month, you can choose various types of accommodation. In the first place you can go for a hostel, which is more basic than a hotel, with fewer services and facilities and less privacy. This doesn’t automatically mean, however, that basic means your room will not be clean or that your stay will be any less pleasant.
This type of accommodation is cheaper than a hotel, and hostels are basically meant for young people, groups of friends or single travellers, who do not want to spend a lot of money on the roof above their head.
Another place you can stay at in the capital is a hotel. Hotels are qualified by their number of stars. More stars equals better services and facilities. A one-star hotel is pretty similar to a hostel, but you can still book a single room.
When a hotel has earned more stars, you will find excellent hotels with welcoming facilities and services, and they are perfect for many visitors. A three-star hotel can therefore be a modern and inviting hotel, with comfortable and spacious rooms and interesting services, such as a small spa, swimming pool or a gym.
The only problem with hotels is, that if you prefer comfort and excellent services, this comes at a price. And if you want to stay in Madrid for more than 30 days, you will be presented with an enormous invoice.
If you are looking for a cheaper option, you can spend the night at a campsite on the outskirts of the city. You can put up your tent, stay in a caravan or camper car, or, if you do not own any of these and prefer a little more luxury, rent a bungalow on the campsite premises.

The only negative is, that campsites are located on the outskirts of the city, which means that everything will be at a distance. It is good to know that campsites also have stars, depending on their services and facilities. Some are even known as luxury campsites.
These campsites have services like swimming pools, communal bathrooms and showers, laundry facilities, a dishwashing area, a supermarket, sports courts and restaurants and bars.
The last option we will address is renting a holiday apartment. There are many advantages of renting an apartment. You will get more for your money, you will enjoy much more privacy, you can save on food, because you have a kitchen of your own, facilities and furniture are well maintained and you can select the area of your preference in the city, depending on its location and price.
More and more people are choosing this type of accommodation when visiting a city, and ShMadrid specialises in this type of accommodation. So now you know, if you want to spend some time in the capital and want to feel like you are actually more at home, you can rent a seasonal apartment in the city of Madrid.
