3. Librería La Central de Callao

This cafe bookshop is to be found behind Mercado Anton Martin. If you are looking for something a little more tranquil then this is where you should be heading. It has a good selection of books in every language and is a home away from home for you bookworms.
But what makes this place so special is the cafe with is its centrepiece. It helps to create a cosy library like atmosphere and will help you to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Fare on offer is limited but is still good. Here you can enjoy some great cakes as well as some lovely teas or coffees.
5. Tipos Infames
You’ll find this just off Calle Fuencarral in the city’s Malasaña district. It is one of the most trendy of cafe bookshops in the city and also has a wine bar. It is definitely a favourite place with locals.
With lots of spacious seating and high ceilings this one is much more light and airy. This is the perfect place for you to go with your friends to catch up or to do a spot of studying or reading.
When it comes to food it’s more about the wine and on Sundays there is live music before lunchtime begins.
